Kjun’s Letter: Update Schedule Change and ModKit Notice

Kjun’s Letter: Update Schedule Change and ModKit Notice

1. Player Feedback Channels

Player feedback is a key part of development. The team reviews feedback and bug reports submitted through Discord, Steam, and customer support (CS) daily. They assess the feedback based on frequency and impact and prioritize bugs that affect gameplay. The team will continue to improve communication about how feedback is reflected in the game.

2. Update Delay and Modding Details

The team apologizes for the delay in the May update. The update originally planned for May, which includes the modding system, has been pushed to mid-June. They are focusing on improving the quality of the content.

There has been some confusion about the ModKit, and the team wants to clarify its purpose. The ModKit is a tool for creating mods, making it easier to create and share mod content. Creators can share mods in two ways:

Upload to CurseForge and install through the in-game Mod Browser.

Save the mod locally and place it in the Documents\inZOI\Mods folder for manual installation.

The June update will include:

A tool for editing or replacing graphics for outfits and furniture.

Developer-accessible JSON files to customize game settings and logic.

Sample projects for creating clothing, hairstyles, furniture, and interactions.

For beginners, there will be the CAZ Wizard tool to help with modding outfits. The ModKit will be expanded over time, and while some features like scripting won’t be available at launch, the team is working to provide a high-quality tool as soon as possible.

3. Game Content Improvements

The team is also working on improving Zois’ emotional expression and personality for the June update. After working on emotional stability in the April update, they found some Zois freeze or don’t express emotions correctly. This will be fixed in June.

They are also adding emotion-based conversations and reactions, so Zois' behavior will vary depending on their mood. For example, a sad Zoi might 'cry in the bathroom,' and certain interactions will be influenced by emotions.

The goal is for Zois to develop unique personalities over time and respond naturally based on their emotional state. This system will continue to evolve.
